I received my BFA from the University of Georgia in 1987. During that time, I was granted the opportunity to complete a semester of study at The Cooper Union in New York City, where I further honed my talents as an artist.
In 2005, I completed my teaching certification and spent the next several years as an art educator for middle school and high school students. All the while, I completed multiple commission artworks for private clients.
Now, happily settled into the beautiful Lowcountry of South Carolina, I am enjoying the opportunity to create fulltime from my home studio in Charleston, SC.
As a professional artist and former art educator, I have expertise in a broad range of mediums. Therefore, you will find in viewing my portfolio, that I created each composition using the medium that best conveyed the subject matter.
Endless inspiration exists in nature! Motivated by my daily walks among the salt marshes and coastal waterways, I especially enjoy capturing the beauty of the world around me by painting seascapes, landscapes, birds, and florals!
